Please welcome North Canyon's new principal Melissa Molzhon
Dear North Canyon Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write to you as your new principal at North Canyon High School for the 2017-18 school year. I am extremely excited about joining the North Canyon team! I look forward to spending time learning more about the school community and the incredible staff and students that make North Canyon such an amazing learning environment.
I would also like to provide you with some background about me. Originally from Iowa, I moved to Arizona in 1986. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Arizona State University and I completed my Masters in Administration at Northern Arizona University.
The Paradise Valley School District has been my professional home since 2003, when I began my teaching career. Most recently, over the past five years, I was honored to serve the Boulder Creek Elementary Community as their principal. I feel fortunate to be working in a district known for making such a difference in the lives of our youth.
On a personal note, I have three children (ages 20 to 25) who attended Cactus View Elementary, Vista Verde Junior High and graduated from North Canyon High School. My husband and I reside in the community and have for 27 years. We love spending time with our children, traveling and enjoy many outdoor activities.
I am eager to begin working with you in order to continue the many amazing programs and education that North Canyon is known for. I believe that collaboration, communication and teamwork are the essential keys in building a positive environment where students gain the necessary experiences they need to become college and career ready and ultimately, contributing adults. I consider it an honor and privilege to be working with such an outstanding group of students, staff and stakeholders. I look forward to getting to know you! Go Rattlers!
