Sunset Canyon Elementary supports fostering nutritious eating habits so our district's children will be prepared for a healthier lifestyle.

PVSchools participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch programs.  Menus are analyzed annually to ensure that nutrient standards established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture are met.  Free and reduced-price meal applications are available in school offices and cafeterias, or you can apply online.

Please visit the District Nutrition Website for additional information, menus and online meal payments.

Medication Reminder

The health office needs your permission to dispense medication to your child. Medication forms are available in the health office or at the front desk and must be completed when dropping off any medication for your child. In accordance with district policy, hand-written notes are not acceptable.

All over-the-counter medication must be dispensed through the health office (this does include cough drops). To ensure that medication has not expired and the dosage is correct, all medication needs to be in the original container.

Doctor-prescribed medication must be in the original container with the prescription label that includes the patient's name intact.

Please remember it is district policy that your child be fever-free (no fever without the aid of Tylenol or Ibuprofen) and vomit-free for 24 hours to returning to school. This district policy protects all students from illness. Thank you for your cooperation.

For more information, call the health office at (602) 449-5103.

Please let the nurse know if your child has strep throat, pink eye, or any other communicable situation. The nurse will then alert the classroom so the rest of the parents can monitor their children and keep them HOME before coming to school and possibly infecting the entire class.

Requirement of immunizations for 11 year old students

Students that are 11 years old are required by Arizona state law to receive a Tdap and Meningitis immunization.  Any questions, please call the health office at (602) 449-5103.
