Provide a framework of professional learning designed by stakeholders to achieve organizational excellence.

School Strategies

  • The Sunrise PLC Model will continue to be facilitated with focus areas encompassing analysis of assessment, Arizona College and Career Ready Standards (AZCCRS), thematic planning and common formative assessment development.

  • Sunrise COMPASS goals and strategies will be modified to accurately reflect the new streamlined learning goal objectives (encompassing GVC) and equity goal objectives.  Final determination of PLC structure will be made for the 2017-18 school year.  Any changes will be discussed with staff at the PLC day in August.

  • All district-mandated PLC training will take place on campus.  PLC understanding, norms, initial brainstorming of goals, etc. will all be completed during these sessions.

  • SchoolCity training will take place for Sunrise teachers as part of the first Sunrise professional development day.

Learning Goal Metrics

  • Successful implementation of Sunrise PLCs and PLC goals as measured in PLC binders

  • Completion of relevant trainings of staff, including PLC and School City trainings

Learning Goal Objective 2

Develop various pathways and procedures to enable each student to have access to have authentic, real-world learning experiences across the curriculum and grade span.

School Strategies

  • Academic PLCs will identify once again a learning them for each academic quarter.
    Common formative assessments will be designed throughout the year to align to aforementioned themes.
    Thematic planning will be structured to include relevant, meaningful learning activities for students.

  • Final training will take place within academic PLCs to create a data focus for each teacher to track student performance and identify areas for instructional differentiation and assessment focus.  SchoolCity will serve as the vehicle to expedite this piece.

  • Final SMART goals will be stablished within each PLC.  These goals will interface with the TES and performance based pay (PB P) goals.  PLCs will make effort to align goals to the four essential questions of a PLC.  SchoolCity will serve as the vehicle to expedite this piece.

  • PLCs will meet and track progress within designated bindes and/or on Google Docs.  Meeting minutes will be published consistently by each PLC for administrative review.

  • A December review of PLC progress will be conducted to determine the level of goals' implementation and earned PBP allocations.  PLCs will continue to meet and progress will be monitored by the school administration.

  • al progress towards goal objectives will be analyzed to determine goal attainment.

Learning Goal Metrics

  • One theme, with relevance as a focus, will be implemented, facilitated and completed by each academic department each quarter as evidenced by team submission and administrative observation/evaluation.

  • All PLC SMART goals will be aligned to the four essential questions with pro and post data readily available via SchoolCity.

  • Minutes for all PLC meetings will be housed in a binder or on Google Docs.  Minutes will be reviewed consistently by the school administration.  All requirements for PLC goal achievement will be determined with two reviews by the school administration.

  • Statistical improvement in AzMERIT content areas

Learning Goal Objective 3

Provide a rigorous Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC) through focused professional development, effective differentiated instruction, and strategic assessments.

School Strategies

  • Analysis of macro AzMERIT state assessment results will take place along with an examination of individual student performance.

  • Once again, Sunrise will employ a full implementation of GVC in ELA and math.

  • Sunrise ELA and math teachers will be meeting in their PLCs and occasionally during prep periods to ensure our departments are seamless in implementing the GVC.  Again, common formative assessments will be formulated and aligned each academic quarter within Sunrise PLCs.

  • Sunrise math teachers will be using the GVC Unit Overview provided by the curriculum department and giving feedback after each unit.

  • Sunrise ELA and math teacher will be using SchoolCity for data collection.

  • Common formative assessments will be formulated and aligned each academic quarter within our math PLC.
