School Strategies

  • Sunrise staff will demonstrate awareness of challenges unique to Sunrise students, particularly within the area of classroom management.

  • Sunrise staff will cultivate relations with students and parents to better foster personal growth.  Positive student culture reflecting the modeling of diversity acceptance and equity awareness of all stakeholders will be the expectation.

  • Sunrise staff will close identified achievement gaps.

Equity Goal Objective 2

Create procedures to eliminate barriers so that all students can participate and experience success in high quality curricular and extracurricular programs.

School Strategies

  • Sunrise staff will work to increase academic opportunities for all students.  This includes honors placement of students to achieve equity of placement for all student on campus.  Also, we will partner with feeder schools to encourage placement and participation in honors classes and specialized programs.

  • Sunrise extracurricular supervisory staff will seek opportunities for inclusion of all students in student clubs, fine arts activities and intramural athletics.

To develop cultural competence within PVSchools that results in equity for students.

  • Sunrise staff will train students about equity issues and provide them with opportunities to participate in equity decision making.
