About Sunrise
Welcome to Sunrise Middle School, home of the Aztecs! At Sunrise, there are many opportunities for students to become successful.
Middle school is an exciting time for teens to explore a wide variety of electives, clubs and extracurricular activities. Please encourage your teen to expand his/her horizons by participating in as many activities as possible whether it be within the fine arts, student clubs and/or athletics. Research shows that the more actively involved a student is in his or her school, the more successful he/she will be in all aspects of what it means to be a successful student.
Our teachers are committed to providing meaningful and engaging instruction. Technology is utilized heavily by both teachers and students. In addition, the Sunrise commitment to challenge students is evident in the variety of our honors and gifted programs. We offer Honors English, science and social studies and more recently we offer advanced high school math courses for high school credit! With these courses, along with the Digital Learning Center and Dual Language Spanish Immersion, students have opportunities to prepare for high school honors and Advanced Placement courses as well as a dual language learning platform in high school.
One of the most significant points of pride for Sunrise is that we are now home to more than 40% of our student body attending Sunrise on open enrollment. This means we are the school of choice for an exceptionally high number of students and parents. We are honored by this commitment. Thank you!
