Shadow Mountain Hosts DAAPS Open House
Tuesday, October 15, 2019
Eighth-grade students who are interested in learning more about the Digital Academy of Advanced Placement Scholars (DAAPS), which is a Humanities Honors program, should attend the Informational Open House on Tuesday, Nov. 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center at Shadow Mountain High School (get directions to Shadow Mountain).
During the Open House, students and parents will be provided with an overview of the program and hear from current students and teachers. Information about admission requirements and clarification of the application process will also be explained. There also will be an opportunity to ask questions about the entire DAAPS high school experience.
If you need more information about the program or the event, contact DAAPS teacher Kevin Storey by email.
DAAPS is a premier program exclusively offered at Shadow Mountain High School. Courses are designed to exceed the district and state curriculum requirements and challenge the gifted or honors student. Students read, interpret, analyze, and evaluate literature. Interdisciplinary courses are part of the curriculum and students focus on four areas: the critical evaluation of texts, English syntax, grammar, college-level research, and interdisciplinary writing.
