Shadow Mountain High School has a proud tradition of athletic excellence. Students gain many valued benefits when participating in a sport. Sports builds teamwork and leadership skills that are required for working in the real-world. Students will learn to manage time efficiently balancing schoolwork and practices. Sports promote sportsmanship, commitment, physical activity, and friendships that last a life-time creating a well-rounded education.

Shadow Mountain Athletics Calendar

Spring Sports: All spring season athletic events are free admission. We are allowing 4 Adult (Over the age of 18) spectators per roster member. No Students or Children will be allowed. Masks are required while on our campus

*Minimum range metrics is required for Football full contact and competition to begin. The AIA has provided the recommended guidelines for returning to Athletic Activities.

Want to Participate in a Sport?

Step 1: PVSchools in now utilizing an online tool for athlete registration

Register My Athlete

Shadow Mountain is now utilizing an online registration tool for all student athletes. Parents must register their student through the website "Register My Athlete." Parents will need to create a user account, complete forms, and upload their student's physical packet prior to tryouts.


Step 2:

To participate in any sport, you must first complete a Physical Packet and Release of Liability Form for the 2020-21 school year. The physical in the Athletic Packet must be done after March 1st of the current year to be used for the next school year. The Physical Packet requires a MD, DO, NP, or PA-C signature. All forms must be uploaded into Register My Athlete. Melissa Kern will clear participate for tryouts.


Step 3:

Once students have made the final roster of their chosen sport, the $200 Arizona Interscholastic Associates (AIA) participation fee is due prior to the first permissible practice. All fees need to paid to Shadow's bookstore or through the Webstore & Payment Portal.

Parents: For first-time login, you can access for your student's account by entering the following information in the username and password fields.

  • Username: Student ID Number
  • Password: first initial and last name

The webstore accepts all major credit cards.

Students qualifying for free/reduced lunch are able to participate in their sport for free or $40 per sport. You can apply for free/reduced through our online website. You will receive an email/letter to confirm if you have been approved. A copy of this letter needs to be handed into the Bookstore to allow free/reduced payments. The must be completed Before the student can participate in the sport.

Transfer Students

If you student is transferring from another school, school district, or state you must complete the AIA Student Transfer Form. When transferring from a different state, often the school was not a member of the AIA, therefore, you must complete this form. If your school is not the school drop down menu, you will need to choose the option "Other School-Not an AIA Member" and manually enter the information requested.

Expectations of Behavior at Matador Events

When attending Shadow's sporting events students as well as parents are responsible and held accountable for their behavior. The expectation for all attending is to promote a positive attitude of good sportsmanship. This creates a good atmosphere and a wonderful experience everyone can enjoy, while watching our athletes compete.

Want to be a Volunteer Coach?

Athletic volunteers perform an invaluable service, providing for the safety of the students attending events and on field trips. Any individual is eligible to become a volunteer coach once cleared through state-mandated background screening. Potential candidates must be fingerprinted and agree to the background check. To become a PVSchools Volunteer, go through the following steps:
