Distance learning recommenced for PVSchools students on Monday, November 23.
Provide a framework of professional learning designed by stakeholders to achieve organizational excellence.
Adopt and implement newly adopted Spanish Immersion curriculum, including bringing in professional development trainers from New Mexico to insure that the Santillana Descubre Program is implemented with fidelity.
Send 2 teachers to New York (summer of 2017) to train in the Columbia Writing method. Those teachers will do on-going Professional Development to train all other grade levels.
All new teachers will participate in on-line Make Your Day training - veteran teachers may participate as well. This will be paid for by Sandpiper.
All staff will participate in equity training.
Develop various pathways and procedures to enable each student to have access to have authentic, real-world learning experiences across the curriculum and grade span.
Teachers will develop hands-on learning opportunities across the curriculum.
Teachers will use Socratic Seminar strategies (training will be provided).
Teachers will continue to use Kagen Strategies to increase engagement.
Teachers will use Number Talks to increase real world use of mathematics.
Professional Learning Communities will focus on data analysis and best strategies to provide authentic learning.
Classes will take field trips to provide authentic experiences outside of the classroom.
Provide a rigorous Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC) through focused professional development, effective differentiated instruction, and strategic assessments.
Teachers will participate in district provided Guaranteed Viable Curriculum trainings.
Principal will focus classroom observations and provide specific feedback on teacher progress on the Guaranteed Viable Curriculum.
