I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in 1995. Then I earned my post baccalaureate elementary teaching certificate from the University of Arizona in 1997. My teaching career began in Tucson Unified School District,  where I taught for three years. After we had our son, my husband and I relocated to Phoenix. I joined Paradise Valley Unified School District in August of 2000. I taught at Palomino Elementary for one year and then moved to Arrowhead Elementary where I remained for ten years. My teaching experience ranges from first through fourth grades in the classroom setting, and kindergarten through sixth grades as a language acquisition pull-out teacher. During my teaching career, I was awarded the Esperanza Award and I earned my National Board Certification. My last two years at Arrowhead I worked as an Instructional Coach. I earned my Master's Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University in 2010, the same year I was selected as a Rodel Aspiring Principal. I served as Assistant Principal at Wildfire Elementary for two years prior to getting my first assignment as principal at Quail Run Elementary.

Principal's Welcome

Compass SymbolWelcome to Quail Run Elementary School, a growing and vibrant school
community and 'home' to over 720 children in Kindergarten through Grade 6. At Quail Run, we follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years
Program (IBPYP) curriculum framework. We are an IB World School,
authorized by the IB Organization in 2010. We are exceptionally proud
of this achievement and excited to be part of an international network
 of IB schools.

The PYP provides children with an exemplary, rigorous instructional
program that develops strong academic, personal and social skills
necessary for future success. Our students learn foundation skills
and extend their knowledge through inquiry-based learning. They also
learn responsible citizenship and collaborative skills needed in the
21st century workplace.

Quail Run Elementary School parents contribute greatly to our school
community in a variety of ways. They work with teachers to support the
education of their children at home. Additionally, they volunteer in
classrooms supporting teachers and helping us to provide fun and
enriching activities for our students. We encourage all parents to get
involved and be a part of our school team. Consider joining our
dedicated and wonderful PTA. They support our school programs and
provide a variety of fun activities for our families and school
 community members.

I am honored to be your Principal at Quail Run Elementary and look
forward to working with you. Thanks for choosing Quail Run!
