  • Utilize Buddy Benches to help students find friends to play with on the playground

Equity Goal Objective 2:

Create procedures to eliminate barriers so that all students can participate and experience success in high quality curricular and extracurricular programs.

School Strategies

  • Provide scholarships for students for field trips and before/after school classes
  • Provide small group language instruction for English Language Learners
  • Implement resource model that includes push-in and co-teaching as well as pull-out support for identified students
  • Incorporate the gifted cluster model in kindergarten through fourth grade and provide services with gifted specialist for identified students in fourth through sixth grades

To develop cultural competence within PVSchools that results in equity for students.

School Strategies

  • Provide second language instruction at all grade levels as part of IB program (Spanish Special Area Rotation)
    • Incorporate cultural study of countries around world that speak Spanish
  • Invite parents to speak about various cultures/traditions
  • Provide research opportunities in various International Baccalaureate units of inquiry
  • Teach, model and reinforce the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile and Attitudes to develop habits of mind and body
