Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! Whether you are a returning Trojan, or a new student starting at PVHS, we wish you all the best as you start a new school year.
As you may have already heard, every high school student in PVUSD will be receiving a brand new computer to help facilitate the new PVConnect virtual learning model which starts on August 5th.
In order to receive your new device, you will need to return all textbooks, novels, Chromebooks and chargers, calculators, and any other school items you may have from last semester. This new device will be yours to keep until you graduate from PVHS or leave the district. You will use it for PVConnect while we are still learning from home, and you will bring it with you every day once we return to school in person. No more sharing computers from carts.
Book Return and Device Pick-Up
Please save these dates for your “grade specific” book return and device pick-up. It is critical that you come on your scheduled day so we are able to manage the number of students on campus and facilitate a safe environment. Please make arrangements to be here. Be sure to wear a mask and bring your ID. (Last year’s ID will work.)
A note for incoming Freshmen: Bring your middle school ID. You will need to return your textbooks to your middle school, not us. They will be sending information about when to do that soon. Do not bring your middle school textbooks to PVHS. However, you can return your old Chromebooks and chargers to us if you borrowed one back when school closed.
Please come at the designated date and time for your grade. Park in the west lot covered parking area and enter through the west doors of the Science building. There will be signs for all of our new students, so no need to worry.

These new devices are being provided to you at no cost. However, an optional device protection plan will be offered with each new device. The cost of the plan is $30 and will significantly reduce the cost of repair or replacement if you were to damage or lose your new device. The plan information form will be sent out prior to July 22 so you can fill it out and be prepared to purchase it when you pick up your new device. Again, the protection plan is optional, but highly recommended.
NOTE: This pick-up information applies to Paradise Valley High School students only. If you attend one of our sister high schools and come to PVHS for a CTE class, you need to pick up your device from your home school.
PVConnect (Virtual Real-Time Instruction): Students in grades PreK-12 will participate in full, online learning with scheduled, real-time virtual instruction. All students will be expected to attend each day and submit assignments and participate as they would if they were attending in-person. PVConnect allows for a smooth transition for when in-person learning resumes. Once in-person instruction begins, teachers instructing online in the PVConnect model will teach in-person classes. Students electing to continue in the PVConnect model will be able to participate from home via WebEx/Google Meet and Google Classroom.

In order to participate in district organized athletics, each athlete and one of their parents or legal guardians must watch the PVSchools Informed Consent video either at a scheduled parent meeting or online.
This is only required once during your four years in high school. Please refer to the PVSchools Athletic Information Form for a parent/guardian signature after viewing. All athletes must complete this form prior to playing a sport. You can download the athletics form via the district website.
