School Strategies

  • Pre-planned and articulated Professional Development plan for the multiple years based on our goals and needs
  • Project/Problem Based Learning training for staff
  • Paradise Valley Teacher Institute (PVTI): Training and support for new teachers (AdvancEd recommendation)
  • Continue to develop the efficiency and effectiveness of the Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) at PVHS 
  • Include site council in the planning for Professional Development (04-17-17)

Develop various pathways and procedures to enable each student to have access to have authentic, real-world learning experiences across the curriculum and grade span.

  • Implementation of Project/Problem Based Learning in all subjects
  • Adopt a Maker Culture school-wide and create MakerSpaces to facilitate the process
  • Implementation of ECAPS school-wide

  • Schools/Departments will document the authentic/real world learning experiences available to every student.  
  • A usage audit will be completed on district adopted curricula.
  • Measure student enrollment in courses/programs characterized by the application of skills.

Learning Goal Objective 3

Provide a rigorous Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC) through focused professional development, effective differentiated instruction, and strategic assessments.

School Strategies

  • Implementation of District created GVC in Math and ELA
  • Development and implementation of common essential content (pre-GVC) in all other content areas
  • Continued focus within school PLCs on the development and use of common assessments and the collection and analysis and data
  • Algebra 1-2 moving to standards-based assessments

  • Schools will implement the GVC Framework in developed areas.
  • Collect usage data of benchmark assessments.
  • Gather a list of offerings associated with GVC.
