Equity Goal Objective 2

Create procedures to eliminate barriers so that all students can participate and experience success in high quality curricular and extracurricular programs.

School Strategies

  • Development and implementation of common essential content (pre-GVC) in all content areas
  • ECAPS, goal setting and Family Connection
  • Outreach to feeder schools to encourage enrollment in high level course and programs like CREST and CTE
  • MSAN/SEEN works to further the joint mission of student groups who share the common goal of inclusion, acceptance, and making all students feel welcome
  • F/R lunch waivers for sports/class fees/activities
  • Utilize PTO to support extra-curricular activities that support student growth (04-17-17)

Equity Goal Objective 3

To develop cultural competence within PVSchools that results in equity for students.

School Strategies

  • Train every staff member how to use Language Line to ensure all parents can communicate with the school in the language of their choice.
  • Offer School Tours for Spanish speakers
  • Implement an “Equity Challenge” for Staff, present to staff and challenge another school’s staff
  • Establish an Equity Champion on each PLC
  • Establish a school Equity Team: Staff, Students and Parents
  • Provide our staff with tips, training and activities that embrace the socioeconomic and racial diversity of our campus.
  • Include cultural competence in our school-wide initiatives for students
  • Attend the ASCD Equity Conference- November 2017
  • Students present to All Staff at January 29, 2018 Staff meeting
  • “Equity Challenge” developed by the Equity team will be rolled out in February.
