Welcome to North Canyon High School, home of the Rattlers! At North Canyon our teachers create a challenging and rewarding learning environment for all students. Our teachers, support staff and administration are dedicated to student success and growth. This is evident each and every day in classrooms and in the casual interactions between students and staff in the hallways and at school events.
We are a Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) school. Our "Rattler Pride" expectations, developed by students, are: be respectful, be accountable, be responsible and take initiative. Our mission is "to empower students to care, learn, and succeed, ensuring college and career readiness;" and we work extremely hard to focus on each part of the mission. North Canyon is a welcoming school.
Besides our signature (IB, AVID, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services) and academic programs, we have wonderful fine arts and career/technical education electives so that students have the opportunity to pursue their interests. Participation in sports and clubs offers other opportunities to make high school memorable.
Come join the North Canyon family!
Get to Know Principal Melissa Molzhon
Dear North Canyon Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I serve as your principal at North Canyon High School. I love being a part of the Rattler Family! I enjoy working with our incredible staff and getting to know our exceptional students that make North Canyon such an exciting and challenging learning environment.
Originally from Iowa, I moved to Arizona in 1986. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Arizona State University, and I completed my Masters in Administration at Northern Arizona University.
The Paradise Valley School District has been my professional home since 2003, when I began my teaching career. Before North Canyon High School, I had the honor of serving the Boulder Creek Elementary Community as their principal. I feel fortunate to be working in a district known for making such a difference in our students, lives.
On a personal note, my love and knowledge of the PVUSD community extends beyond being an educator. I have three children in their twenties who attended Cactus View Elementary, Vista Verde Middle School and graduated from North Canyon High School. My husband and I also reside in the community and have for 29 years.
I am eager to work with you to continue the many incredible programs and the education excellence that North Canyon is known for. I believe that communication, collaboration, and inclusivity are the essential components in building a positive environment where students gain the necessary experiences to become college and career ready amd, ultimately, a well-rounded, productive citizen. I consider it an honor and privilege to be working with such an outstanding group of students, staff, and stakeholders.
I look forward to getting to know you and working with you! Go Rattlers!
