CTE Programs Provide Students with a Competitive Advantage

Thursday, August 29, 2019

Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide students with the foundation and opportunity to explore different career paths while gaining real-world experiences along the way.

“No matter what post-secondary aspirations students may have, whether it be continuing on to further education or joining the workforce immediately upon completion of high school, CTE programs provide students with a competitive advantage that will serve them well in any pursuit,” said Rebecca MacGowan, director of CTE.

The CTE Delivery Model, which is a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory experience, leadership development, and career-based learning, gives students an edge in the increasingly global marketplace. CTE prepares students for high skill, high demand, and high paying careers.

“Career and Technical Education is education with a purpose with academics naturally embedded in the curriculum. The applied academics paired with strong technical and professional preparation provides students with lifelong marketable skills, which will enable them to earn above-average wages at any stage of their career path,” said Ms. MacGowan.
