Grayhawk Elementary School Is An A+ School of Excellence!
The A+ School of Excellence™ Program is a comprehensive school assessment program that celebrates outstanding schools and brings to light the positive stories and successes happening in public schools every day.
The A+ School of Excellence Program was created by the Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF) in 1983. Its purpose is threefold:
- to identify and give public recognition to outstanding public schools in Arizona;
- to make available a comprehensive framework of key criteria for school effectiveness that can serve as a basis for participatory self-assessment and planning in schools;
- to facilitate communication and sharing of best practices within and among schools based on a common criteria related to success.
Grayhawk Elementary School has received the prestigious A+ School of Excellence™ Award from the Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF).
“We are extremely honored to have Grayhawk Elementary School recognized as A+ School of Excellence™ recipients. PVSchools is very proud to have four schools recognized for this distinction,” said Superintendent James P. Lee, Ed.D. “This award attests to the great work that is happening in our community and in our classrooms at PVSchools.”
This is the first time that Grayhawk Elementary School has received this honor.
According to the AEF website, schools are evaluated in the areas of student focus and support, school culture, active teaching and learning, curriculum, leadership, community and parent involvement and assessment. The selection panel includes award-winning principals, teachers and community leaders. Panel members conducted site visits to shortlisted schools throughout the state in select the winners.
Each school will receive $500 and a banner designating it as an A+ School of Excellence™.
