Grayhawk Elementary School Gives Back

Monday, June 17, 2019

Grayhawk Elementary School is fostering a spirit of giving back through numerous programs, including an annual Sock Drive, Deck the Halls with Food for the Needy, Pennies for Patients, the Echo Mountain Gift Program, and the Books for Nepal Book Drive.

Around the holidays each fall, the Grayhawk Elementary Student Council manages a Sock and Food Drive in October. In 2015, it’s second year running, Grayhawk Elementary students donated over 1,700 pairs of socks exceeding their goal of 1,500. The socks were donated to the Phoenix Rescue Mission. The director of the shelter stated that socks are one of the most needed items for the homeless.

We are so incredibly proud of our students for participating in these kinds of programs each year to help those less fortunate. We hope to continue these programs for many years to come.
