Kindergarten Registration & Open Enrollment

Kindergarten Open Enrollment

Every September, the open enrollment window opens at District Office.

Parents will be notified by the District Office if accepted for open enrollment by mid-December.

After December, students will be placed on a waitlist and notified in May if their open enrollment has been accepted.

Open Enrollment

Fireside Elementary School is open for kindergarten, but closed for all other grades.

Homework and Attendance Policy

On the day of absence, homework may be requested by email to the teacher before 9:00 a.m. It may be picked up in the school office after 3:15 p.m. Students will be given time to make up work when they return from their absence.

Under district policy attendance and excuse policy, it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to notify the school of an absence. We urge you to call the school absence line prior to 9:00 a.m. on the actual day of the absence. Fireside has a 24-hour voicemail absence line for reporting absences. The number is 602-449-4701.

A student whose absences (excused/unexcused) totals more than 10 percent (or 18 days) of the school year and whose absences have affected academic progress may be retained due to the negative effect on the grade and may be cited and report to the courts (according to Arizona Revised Statute 15-802 and A.R.S. 15-803).
