Students needing extra help with homework and assignments can now access PVSchools Free Resources Online Student Tutoring (FROST) through Google Classroom.

FROST is a student-driven, online tutoring program that uses web-based tools to create a casual, easy to use learning environment for students who need extra assistance with their academic subjects.

“As we have all gotten more comfortable and confident with Google Classroom, the FROST Classroom will be better than ever this year. Tutors are available more frequently, with everyone learning remotely. We have had dedicated tutors monitoring the Classroom during the summer and are ready and eager to assist. Students are encouraged to join the Google Classroom and post questions anytime,” said Karen Mensing, IT integration specialist.

PVSchools National Honor Society students are available to provide online tutoring in any subject matter for any student kindergarten through 12th-grade.

“FROST is the best-kept secret in PVSchools, and it’s time to let everyone in on the secret! FROST is a fabulous, completely free online tutoring service. Students can post questions in the Google Classroom any time of day or night, and they usually see a response fairly quickly. FROST epitomizes the four C's of 21st century skills as it is extremely collaborative, there are tons of communication and the tutors frequently foster critical thinking. Further, it is amazing to watch the creativity unfold as students connect and problem-solve together,” said Mensing.

Beyond homework help and tutoring, FROST is an excellent example of positive digital citizenship. “Hundreds of students are interacting in the FROST Classroom, and they are helpful, kind, and specific with their questions and responses,” explained Mensing.
