Distance learning recommenced for PVSchools students on Monday, November 23.
Dear DSMS Families,
I am grateful to begin my fourth year as your Desert Shadows Assistant Principal. This summer, our Leadership Team has spent countless hours finding solutions to the challenges virtual learning and COVID-19 present. Whether on physical campus or in virtual classrooms, we aim to have our students engaged, challenged and supported in each class. Delivering on high expectations is what motivates me to support this amazing staff in their creative talents and drive to inspire students’ growth.
My passion for public education in Arizona runs deep; I am a product of this school system and feel honored to give back to future generations of Arizonans. I grew up in Scottsdale and attended Saguaro High School, then ASU for my bachelor's degree. I completed my M.Ed. through Northern Arizona University while I was teaching in 2011-12. Now I live with my family in North Phoenix where my seven-year-old son seems to be growing up way too fast.
Through careful planning and consideration of students' unique circumstances, I am confident in our ability to prepare all DSMS students for life's next opportunities. Education is an ongoing process where each level of schooling plays a vital role in academic and character education. At Desert Shadows, we strive for excellence in both of these areas and will continue to work on creative ways to meet our students' needs. Parents and community members are welcomed and encouraged to collaborate with our learning community to benefit student growth. Please reach out to our administrative team with questions or concerns.
