A Message from Our Principal
Hello and thank you for visiting.
It is a privilege for me to serve as the principal of Desert Cove Elementary School. Our school is made up of a wonderful group of students, staff, and families who share in the relentless pursuit of developing World- Class Thinkers. Desert Cove has an outstanding reputation when it comes to providing students with a high quality education. I look forward to working with you in order to ensure that our children meet their academic, emotional, and social goals. Welcome to Desert Cove!
I would also like to share a little bit of background information about me. I am originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, but moved to Arizona at a very young age. I attended school in the Cartwright and Deer Valley School Districts. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Arizona State University and completed my first Master’s degree at Northern Arizona University in Educational Technology. In May of 2014, I completed my second Master’s in Educational Leadership and obtained my Administrative Certification at Arizona State University.
Professionally, I worked in the Marana (Tucson), Deer Valley and Paradise Valley School Districts. During my first ten years in education, I served as a teacher in grades 2, 3, 5, and 7. In 2007, I was computer teacher for Kindergarten through sixth grades at Indian Bend Elementary. I moved on to Horizon High School where I was the Library Media Specialist for three years before moving into an administrative role for the Paradise Valley School District. I was also the Assistant Principal at Sunrise Middle School.
On a personal note, I have two children (ages 9 and 11) and one dog. My husband and I reside in North Phoenix and spend much of our time attending football and karate lessons with our children. We love traveling together, playing games and enjoying many outdoors activities.
My goal is to work diligently with parents, faculty and students to cultivate an atmosphere characterized by the highest level of academic excellence, trust, respect, and open lines of communication. I will do my best to inspire the students and staff to reach their full potential with respect to education and character. Together we can accomplish anything!
