Hello, my name is Megan Cameron and I am excited, thankful, and proud to call myself an educator and Cactus View’s Principal. This will be my tenth year in education and this is my third year with our Jackrabbit family. I received my MA in Educational Leadership in 2019 and my BS in Elementary Education in 2011 – both from Northern Arizona University (go Lumberjacks)! Prior to becoming an administrator I had the privilege of teaching and leading in grades 2nd through 7th grade, and I am highly qualified in middle school English.
I was born and raised in Arizona. I am married to my husband of 14 years, James. Together, we have two daughters – Cayley who is 14 and entering high school and Alyssa who is 11 and entering 5th grade. Becoming a parent solidified my reasons for becoming an educator. I believe that children are the light in our lives, and I appreciate that I have the opportunity to get to know your children and I look forward to the relationships we build together.
My philosophy for students is that they can attain their highest levels of achievement when given inspiration and guidance from educators. This begins with their school’s leadership team and it is our primary responsibility to pave a clear pathway for their success. With my experience in behavior analysis, restorative justice, curriculum development, assessment, and coaching all of which are all essential for this role and they directly impact all stakeholders.
It is a privilege to continue to serve the community of Cactus View Elementary School in this new role. Our students and staff make our school magical. As I walk the halls and classrooms, I will continue to look for our student’s pride when they make connections and reach their goals.
My mission will be to continuously display love and respect for each person who walks through our doors.
Megan Cameron, M.Ed.
