This is an application for North Canyon High School AVID Program in PVSchools. AVID is an internationally certified program that prepares students for college eligibility and for real-world careers. It has a proven track record of bringing out the best in students and in closing the opportunity gap. The mission of AVID is to ensure that ALL students will succeed in a rigorous curriculum, complete a college or career preparatory path, and participate in extracurricular activities such as service learning, clubs, and athletics.

The AVID elective meets daily. The curriculum features writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading. We focus on note-taking and study skills, Tutorials, and college/career/preparation activities. Field trips are periodically taken to colleges, trade schools, and universities in the area as well. If your application is accepted, you will be contacted for an interview with your school's AVID Coordinator or Elective teacher.
