Year of the Snake

Year of the Snake

PVSchools rang in the Chinese New Year at Paradise Valley High School with the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students from Whispering Wind Academy and Sunrise Middle School who take part in the Mandarin program.

January 29, marks the beginning of the 15-day celebration, also known as the Spring Festival, when the Year of the Snake is ushered in. This important tradition typically spans two weeks — from the first new moon to the next full moon, and is a cherished celebration around the world.

On February 7, PVSchools students celebrated the Year of the Snake at Paradise Valley High School and presented traditional songs and dances to pay homage to the beauty and richness of the culture. Students experienced firsthand the Chinese culture that they learned about in their structured and immersive Mandarin program. It certainly is impressive to see how much Mandarin all these students are learning. We are so proud of them and their teachers!
