Welcome Back Governing Board President's Letter
(Summer seems to go faster and faster each year...) Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! The excitement across the district has been palpable, with teachers, staff, and administrators preparing for the first day of school and the arrival of students! This fall, we welcome back 3,204 employees and welcome 248 new employees to Paradise Valley Unified School District. Approximately 28,000 students will be studying at one of our 47 campuses/programs across the District, and our bus drivers will be driving a combined 6,606 miles each day to get students to and from their schools.
A new school year is a fresh start - a chance to study a new topic, learn a new skill, or try a new activity. Parents, students, employees, and community members continue to shape our District. Although the makeup of Paradise Valley Unified School District changes each year, at our core, we are a District that always strives to put students first and at the center of every decision. Our vision is “Every learner empowered for a lifetime of success.” While a student’s journey in our schools might end upon graduation, their journey as a community-minded member of society is just beginning, and we are preparing these graduates for that next step.
Our hope is that every student and staff member feels supported, included, and appreciated at our schools. Each person in our community has the power to make a positive difference in another person’s life. Let’s use the start of another school year as an opportunity to recommit to those ideals. We are proud to be your partner on every PV student’s Journey of Excellence.
On behalf of the Governing Board,
P.S. If you are committed to students, or know someone who is interested, and want to be a part of this amazing PVSchools family, we are always looking for people to join the team.
