PVSchools Welcomes New Superintendent

The PVSchools Governing Board has unanimously selected Dr. Todd Cummings to become the next superintendent of PVSchools. The unanimous vote signifies the board's confidence in Dr. Cummings' ability to lead the district into a new era of educational excellence.

Dr. Cummings, a seasoned educator with a proven track record of success, will officially assume his duties on July 1, 2025. His appointment has been met with widespread enthusiasm from the PVSchools community, who eagerly anticipate he will continue to improve an already fantastic education destination.

Known for his innovative approach to education and his unwavering commitment to student success, Dr. Cummings thanked PV’s current and former staff, community members, students, and families in a statement after the board voted.

I want to thank the Governing Board for their faith and trust in me and for this amazing opportunity; to PVSchools leaders, both past and present, who have laid a strong foundation: Dr. Jason Reynolds, Dr. Troy Bales, and Dr. Jim Lee. PV Cabinet members, thank you for your hard work and dedication. I know your commitment to PV will help make this a smooth transition. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with each of you. I’m also excited to support the work of PVSchools teachers, support staff, and administrators—this skillful group of professionals are the foundation of this district’s success. And finally, thank you to PV students, your dedication to the journey of excellence is the heartbeat of this district. I am proud to serve as the next superintendent of the Paradise Valley Unified School District.

In comments made at the April 3 Governing Board meeting, Anne Greenberg, PVSchools Governing Board President, said that Dr. Cummings, “...understands the PV way. I believe he shares and honors what it embodies: qualities of commitment and collaboration, of innovation and vision of a true love of learning, and a true joy in being an educator. He believes in the power of education and in the potential of every student.”

The PVSchools community is excited to welcome Dr. Cummings and his family to Paradise. As he embarks on this new journey, the district is confident that his vision and leadership will propel PVSchools to even greater heights.
