Learn About the DAAPS Program During Open House
Eighth-grade students interested in learning more about the Digital Academy of Advanced Placement Scholars (DAAPS), a Humanities Honors program, should attend the Informational Open House on Wednesday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center at Shadow Mountain High School (get directions).
The Open House will provide students and parents with an overview of the program from teachers and current students, as well as information about admission requirements and the application process. There also will be an opportunity to ask questions about the entire DAAPS high school experience.
Learn more about the DAAPS program. If you need more information about the program or the event, email the DAAPS teacher Kevin Storey.
DAAPS is a Signature Program exclusively offered at Shadow Mountain High School. Courses are designed to exceed the district and state curriculum requirements and challenge the gifted or honors student. Students read, interpret, analyze, and evaluate literature. Interdisciplinary courses are part of the curriculum, and students focus on four areas: the critical evaluation of texts, English syntax, grammar, college-level research, and interdisciplinary writing.
