JROTC Promises Growth for Students

JROTC Promises Growth for Students

The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is a nationally recognized four-year program that serves the needs of the nation, communities, and high school students alike. The program’s inception began in the early 1900s and expanded to all military branches in the 1960s. JROTC was initially used as a recruitment and training tool but has grown into something much greater. The mission of this program is for cadets to grow into better citizens. Impressively, high schoolers who choose to participate in the JROTC program make notable gains as students and join the workforce with leadership skills, character, and a strong educational foundation. PVSchools boasts some of the most acclaimed JROTC programs which have allowed students to grow into exemplary, successful, and impressive leaders.

PVSchools offers Space Force JROTC as well as Army JROTC where the curriculum includes lessons in leadership, health and wellness, government, communication, the national command structure, and more. Both programs promote discipline through drills and ceremonies and provide equitable & challenging academic content for all cadets. Most importantly, both programs provide opportunities for growth so students can better prepare for each course sequence, and graduate with skills that employers are looking for.

While JROTC does motivate students to join the military after graduation, the program is no longer solely used for recruitment purposes. It is also a stepping stone for students who plan on having a civilian job. When students begin their training they start off as cadets learning the basics of life skills, leadership, and citizenship. By year four, cadets have grown into young adults who can enter recruit training at a higher rank, or join a non-military career.  The courses provided each year lay the foundation for a successful college and career experience.

Whether a student dreams of becoming a pilot in the Air Force, a soldier in the Army, an engineer for another military branch, or plans on pursuing a civilian career, PVSchools’ JROTC program is the right path. Students grow from novice learners to experienced cadets with a high degree of personal honor, responsibility, self-reliance, and advanced components required in any workforce.
