Holiday District Turkey Drive

In the spirit of giving, PVSchools district office staff held a turkey drive ahead of last week's holiday. In total the crew received a 22 turkeys and one cash donation. The PV Community Food Bank, a long-time community partner, was the recipient of these donations. Schools in paradise support the food bank through food drives throughout the school year. 

During the holidays, families benefiting from the food bank receive a food box with approximately $35 per person in nonperishable foods, including fresh milk, fruit, vegetables, hamburger, and bread. In addition to the turkey at holiday time, families receive a holiday bag with stuffing mix, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned fruits, and vegetables. This year's donations are especially welcome as the bank serves almost twice as many families as last year.
