Governing Board | This Year’s Portrait of a Graduate

Governing Board | This Year’s Portrait of a Graduate

Every learner empowered for a lifetime of success.

This is the vision, the dream, the driving force of PVSchools – the aspiration that every student, every learner receives an exceptional educational experience that not only equips but inspires them to succeed in all their endeavors. That each will take what they have learned and continue to expand their skills, to discover new talents, to reach personal and professional heights – and to never, ever stop learning.

Embedded within PVSchools’ vision is our “portrait of a graduate,” the elements we believe essential for students to more readily stay empowered and find success as they move on to college, career, and life beyond our schools. Altogether, these abilities, traits, and competencies lay the foundation for our learners to achieve their goals throughout life.

So, what does a PVSchools graduate look like? While there are certainly nuances of style, shading, fine lines, and media that vary person to person as a canvas is completed, the key components of the masterpiece are graduates who are creative thinkers, critical thinkers, collaborative, community minded, ethical, and resilient. We hope that our graduates are problem solvers who think reflectively, innovatively, and independently; who communicate and listen effectively while working respectfully with others; who act responsibly, honestly, and with integrity while honoring the experiences of others; and who persevere through challenges and have the confidence in their ability to succeed.

Success comes at different times and in different ways, but this week is a major milestone as we look ahead to the close of the school year. To the graduating class of 2025, congratulations on all you have accomplished during your years in PVSchools, and we hope your time in PV was truly a journey of excellence for you! Thank you for helping make it so for your classmates.

Congratulations to all our other students – we will be excited to see you in August for the new year! Deep thanks to our parents and families for supporting your students and their teachers during the year. And a heartfelt thank you to our teachers, principals, and staff for all you have done to make this year the best for our students and families. We hope everyone in our PVSchools community has an amazing summer that allows you to relax and recharge to the fullest.

Finally, our deepest gratitude to Dr. Jason Reynolds for returning this year to lead PVSchools, where he spent the vast majority of his more than 30 years in public education. It has been a true joy to work with you as you continued to inspire students and staff alike in creating vibrant learning experiences for all here in PV. As a teacher, principal, and superintendent, you have made a significant and meaningful difference in the lives of so many students and families over the years.

So, as the final bell sounds, let me say once more, on behalf of the Governing Board, congratulations to all! Here’s to next steps and new beginnings!
