Arizona Science and Engineering Fair 2023
PVSchools recently wrapped up its 2nd annual elementary and middle school Science Fair, and fourteen of our elementary students and twelve of our middle school students qualified to compete at the State AzSEF — Arizona Science and Engineering Fair — on March 30 to 31. This impressive event brought together first-place science fair winners from around the state to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and scholarships, with the Grand Award winners moving on to an international competition.
Student participants were judged at the in-person fair on a physical project poster and an interview with judges made up of community members and college and high school students. Students wowed the judges in area of Earth and Planetary Science, Engineering, Environmental, Physics and Astronomy, and Animal Science. One student who stood out was Madison Nelson, from Sonora Sky, who won second place in the AzSEF for the Earth and Planetary Science experiment, Do Car Sun Shades Really Work? Congratulations to Madison and to all of the students who represented PVSchools at this extraordinary event.
