AZ529 Future Career Art Contest

AZ529 Future Career Art Contest

Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee visited Wildfire Elementary School to speak with kindergarten students about the importance of saving for future educational goals through the AZ529 Education Savings Plan. During her visit, Treasurer Yee encouraged students to “save a little, spend a little, and share a little.” To make the lesson engaging and memorable, she and her team provided porcelain piggy banks for students to decorate and take home.

Treasurer Yee aims to expand outreach for the AZ529 program by teaching students and families the value of planning ahead for education. AZ529, also known as Arizona’s Education Savings Plan, helps families set aside money for future learning opportunities. The plan can be used for a wide range of educational expenses, including K–12 education, apprenticeship programs, trade schools, and college.

As part of this effort to inspire students to think about their educational and financial futures, Treasurer Yee’s office is launching the fifth annual Dream. Draw. Win. Future Career Art Contest. The contest is open to all K–6 students across Arizona and encourages students to draw a picture of their dream job. Fifteen winners will be selected statewide and will receive $529 toward an AZ529 Education Savings Plan.
