To help support families in Paradise, we are encouraging our community to complete the Free and Reduced Meals application. To qualify for the National School Lunch Program, families must complete a confidential application for their children to receive free and reduced meals. 

“The process is simple, and the benefits can be significant. Families participating in the program have access to nutritious food, which can help improve their children's academic performance,” said Camille Unruh, director of Nutrition and Wellness. 

National School Lunch Program Free and Reduced Meals Application

The National School Lunch Program Free and Reduced Meals Application's income eligibility guidelines are adjusted each year. Depending on where the family's household income falls within these guidelines, they may qualify for free or reduced meals at school.

“PVSchools encourages all parents to submit a free and reduced meal application annually regardless of their income,” said Unruh. 

Online applications can be completed at www.EZMealApp.com and are typically processed within 24 business hours. Paper applications are also available at each school; however, it takes longer to process paper applications. Once the paper application is complete, return it to the school kitchen manager.

Benefits of Applying

There are several reasons to fill out the form, not just meals, including reduced registration fees for Advanced Placement (AP), SAT, and/or ACT tests, and discounted rates on costs associated with applying for college and other extracurricular programs for example.

About the National School Lunch Program

The National School Lunch Program provides students who meet specific criteria free or reduced-price meals at their school. For students who qualify, breakfast and lunch are offered at no charge. This program operates in all schools in the district; applications need to be completed annually at the start of each school year.
