A Cherished Holiday Collaboration

A Cherished Holiday Collaboration

The holiday season is a time for giving, and at Palomino Primary, students are learning the true meaning of generosity through a long-standing partnership with St. Vincent de Paul. For over 30 years, the school has participated in a heartwarming tradition where students shop for gifts for their loved ones at the St. Vincent de Paul Hope Chest store on Tatum and Greenway.

This year, the tradition continued as classes took turns visiting the store, which graciously closed its doors to the public for the day to open them for Palomino students. Before the trip, students worked with their teachers to create a list of family members they wanted to shop for. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a team of dedicated volunteers who helped them navigate the store and select the perfect presents.

St. Vincent de Paul and their generous sponsors covered the cost of the gifts, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community. After returning to school, the students excitedly wrapped their chosen gifts, eager to share the season's joy with their families.

This annual event is more than just a shopping trip; it's a valuable lesson in compassion, empathy, and the spirit of giving. It gives students a unique opportunity to experience the joy of giving back and understand that the holidays are about more than just receiving presents.

We are incredibly grateful to St. Vincent de Paul and their partners for their continued dedication to this wonderful tradition. Their generosity allows our students to experience the holiday season's true meaning and spread joy throughout our community.
