Class Shirts

Thanks to student council fundraisers - class shirts for all students will be free. The shirt will be designed with student input.

We get a shirt for every student and we need parents to complete a separate form for each child, indicating size. Please complete this form no later than September 4th. Check your Parentsquare for the link to order your class shirt.

4th-8th graders are invited to join chorus

Dear Pinnacle Peak Prep 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders and parents,

I am excited to invite you to join the Pinnacle Peak Prep Chorus this year. Our chorus has a lot of fun and we love to perform. The only thing that will make it better is if YOU join!

Chorus rehearsals are every Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:00 am in the music room. Promptness and attendance are essential since we will be learning new material almost every week. Rehearsals have started - so come join us this Wednesday!

The cost for students new to chorus will be $35 which will cover a chorus t-shirt, music, and other items. Please pay through the school payment portal.

Please complete and sign the permission slip, and return it to your homeroom teacher or to Mr. Abbott by Friday, August 28.

The dates and times for the year are as follows: 

• Monday, December 7: Fall Concert, 6:30 p.m.
• April: Spring Concert, 6:30 p.m.

Dress Code

A reminder to all families of our district adopted dress code. Please work with your children to follow these expectations.

Appropriate student dress contributes to a safe workplace and educational atmosphere and the success of the entire school community. Clothing students might wear in social settings or outside of school may not be appropriate to wear to school. We want all students to be dressed appropriately for a successful and safe learning environment. Please wear the following: 

• Clothing that is not see-through and covers a student’s undergarments, chest and torso when standing or sitting. Clothing should have a back and straps and should fit closely under the arms. 
• Clothing that is of adequate length to cover the student’s bottom at all times. 
• Clothing that has appropriate language. Clothing should be free from references to violent images, tobacco/vaping, drugs, alcohol, sexual references, profanity, or language that demeans others. 
• Appropriate footwear for a safe learning environment. When selecting footwear, students should be responsive to the specific safety needs of each school and/or classroom, as determined by the teachers and administration.

Headwear may be worn on campus, but should be removed in the building or classroom if asked by a staff member. Students will not be asked to remove headwear that is worn for cultural and/or religious reasons.

How to register

Sign Up via Aktivate: Sign-ups begin 2 weeks prior to the first practice of each sport. Log in to www.aktivate.com. 

• Existing users: Log in with your current account (do not create a new one).     
• New users: Click "Create an Account", complete your details, and verify with the 6-digit code sent to your email. 
• Click "Click here to start/complete athlete registrations" - "New Registration +" and select your student's school. 
• Please only sign up your athlete for one sport at a time. 
• Pay Registration Fee: Once registered in Aktivate, pay the $75 fee via the PVSchools Payment Portal

School Lunches

Lunch Menus will be in the next messenger. They have not yet been updated.

Applying for Free or Reduced Lunch Status:

The National School Lunch Program provides students, who meet certain criteria, free or reduced-price meals at their school. For students who qualify, breakfast and lunch are offered at no charge. This program operates in all schools in the district; applications need to be completed ANNUALLY at the start of each school year. The online Meal Applications can be completed at EZMealApp.com.or can be found at the school office.

Arizona Healthy School Act

The Arizona Healthy Schools Act restricts any school that participates in a federally funded or assisted meal program, including the National School Lunch Program, from serving or selling ultra-processed food on the school campus during the normal school day. The Arizona Healthy Schools Act is in addition to the already established USDA Smart Snack regulations. 

This does not prevent a student’s parent or guardian from providing foods that contain these ingredients to their own child/student during the regular school day, but does prohibit serving to others.

What You Can and Cannot Bring to Share

As you think about class treats you might bring in for your child's birthday or class parties, please look carefully at the ingredients, so we are following the expectations laid out below. We will monitor everything brought into school, as we follow these new rules. You can still send snacks for your child that include anything you would like, this only applies for things being offered to all students in a class or group. So any snacks, treats, or class party favors that are given to students can not include the following:

Prohibited foods/ingredients: potassium bromate, propylparaben, titanium dioxide, brominated vegetable oil, yellow dyes 5 and 6, blue dyes 1 and 2, green dye 3, and red dyes 3 and 40.

The list above is just suggestions - and does not include all options that would be acceptable.
