Principal Message-Mustang Connection 9/9/2024

Principal Message-Mustang Connection 9/9/2024

Please join me in celebrating that our school has earned a 2023-2024 AZPBIS Level 1 Award. Larkspur Elementary at PVSchools cares about providing a positive and safe learning environment for our students and community. The 2023-2024 AZPBIS Awards recognize schools for successful implementation and outcomes with school-wide systems of Positive Behavior Interventions. This award recognizes the dedication of our school staff and our community to uphold our school expectations every day: being Positive, Respectful, having high Integrity, Demonstrating responsibility, and showing Excellence. Together we are building a school culture that is more positive, proactive, and supportive for all our students so that they can be successful citizens and leaders of our nation.

Mrs. Jessica Sexton

Principal of Larkspur Elementary

SEPTEMBER 11 EDUCATION DAY:

In May of 2022, Governor Ducey signed into law HB2325, which requires that each year on September 11, all public schools in Arizona dedicate a portion of the day to observe “9/11 Education Day.”  Our teachers will be leading grade-appropriate activities on Wednesday, September 11th to recognize the events of that day.
Additionally, legislation also identifies September 17 as Constitution Day (ARS 15-710) and Sept. 25 as Sandra Day O’Connor Civics Celebration Day (ARS 15-710.01).

Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to know more about the activities and resources that will be used in the classroom for these days.

Larkspur Pick-Up/Drop-Off Map

Thank you for your patience during drop off and pick up as families and students practice safe procedures:

  • Please stick to the designated drop-off and pick-up lanes. Park only in designated parking spots.
  • Watch for children and school staff crossing the street.
  • Slow down and be prepared to stop, especially in marked crosswalks.
  • Children under the age of 18 should not be walking into the parking lot without an adult.
  • For safety reasons, please remain in your car during drop-off and pick-up times. If you need to help a student buckle or with the car door, consider parking and walking up to get the student.
  • Be Patient and courteous. Everyone's goal is to get their child to and from school safely. Let's all do our part to be respectful and patient with one another.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our school community safe.

REMINDERS:

-When coming onto campus to check a student out early, please bring your photo ID with you every time. We kindly request that students not be picked up in the front office during the last 10 minutes of the day as all staff members are actively assisting students. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please be sure to complete your Annual Update in Infinite Campus. This is very important in case of an emergency.

-Cell phones and smart watches should be turned off and placed in backpacks during school hours. Students should not use cell phones or smart watches to communicate with parents or friends during school hours. We will allow students to contact parents when needed from the office phone. We will also get messages to students from parents when there is a need.
