Smartphones, Social Media, and the Teen Brain
Guest speaker Stephanie Siete returns with a new presentation: "How Smartphones and Social Media Impact the Teen Brain." Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 1. We invite all parents and guardians district-wide to Horizon High School for an exceptional one-night presentation with the esteemed Ms. Siete, a distinguished and inspiring speaker. Join us in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. for an informative evening.
What you can expect to take away from the presentation
Stephanie will explore the significant differences and impacts of growing up on a playground versus in front of a screen. She'll discuss how smartphones can inadvertently expose teenagers to adult content, shaping their expectations and realities. Additionally, Stephanie will address the ease with which strangers can connect online, potentially misleading our youth. She will also engage in an essential conversation about appropriate phone use in schools and at home, along with strategies for wisely managing student screen timeouts.
