Desert Cove 6th Grade Capstone Art Project
Desert Cove 6th graders recently completed their Art Capstone Projects. These collected works represent our 6th-grade students' deep engagement with our school's PAWS goals of Practice Kindness, Act Respectfully, Wise and Responsible Choices, and Stay Safe. Each student chose an idea they felt personally connected to and delved into how they could represent their ideas in visual media.
After reflecting on their PAWS goal, exploring compositional strategies, and creating various rough drafts, students created artwork independently using media they felt best suited to their artistic practice. From small to large, painting to pencil sketching, each of these works took considerable time, thought, effort, and care on behalf of these students. The ideas presented reflected the personal variety of thoughts, dreams, and feelings of the many artists who make Desert Cove a truly remarkable school.
Desert Cove Elementary is purchasing the artwork from several students. These students will receive an award, a ribbon, and a $50 Visa gift card as payment for their art. The following students will have their artwork displayed in our school for future students to enjoy.
