District Leadership

Dr. Patrick Sweeney is the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Leadership and is a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet. He oversees the middle and high school principals, the Director of Student Services (Secondary), and Career and Technical Education.

Dr. Sweeney is proud to have served in a variety of capacities in public education for almost 40 years. He has been a teacher at both the middle and high school levels and served as an elementary, middle, and high school principal. He has also been Superintendent of a neighboring K-12 district and previously served in his current position from 2009 through 2015.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Northern Iowa, his masters in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix, and his doctorate in educational leadership from Arizona State University.
