District Leadership
Dr. Christopher Asmussen
Dr. Chris Asmussen is the Assistant Superintendent of Leadership - Secondary, and is a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet. He oversees the middle and high school principals as well as the district’s lead counselor, the director of district athletics, the director of community technical education, and the director of student services (secondary).
Prior to this position, Dr. Asmussen served as PVSchools Director of Student Services (Secondary), where he chaired the district emergency response team (DERT), acted as the district’s Title IX coordinator, and oversaw the district’s formal disciplinary hearing process, student records, and the family student handbook. In addition, he supported site administrators with issues concerning student affairs and conduct.
Prior to joining PVSchools, Dr. Asmussen was a middle school principal in a neighboring district for 19 years.
He earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University (2021), a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix (2003), and a Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (1992).
