Friday , January 14 , 2022

One of the most exciting events to take place in a school district is the annual spelling bee. This year, the PVSchools District Spelling Bee winner was Sam Rahmani, a fifth-grade student at Sonoran Sky Elementary School, with the winning word Evanescent.

The spelling lasted nine rounds, and the runner-up was Dylan Hatch, a sixth-grader at Mercury Mine Elementary. Sam and Dylan along with Emma Arteca, a sixth-grader at Campo Bello Elementary; Danielle Gerstein, a sixth-grader at Quail Run Elementary; Medha Pannala, a fourth-grader at Fireside Elementary; Lio Goldberg, a seventh-grader at Sunrise Middle; Naomi Schroeder, a sixth-grader at Cactus View Elementary; and Adalyn Hernandez-Caswell, a sixth-grader at Liberty Elementary; will represent PVSchools at the Maricopa County Regional II Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to Sam and all of the spellers who participated! It was an incredible competition, and everyone did a fantastic job. Good luck to those competing in the Maricopa County Regional II Spelling Bee on Friday, Feb. 11, at Paradise Valley High School!
