PVSchools Receives Financial Reporting Award
Monday , December 02 , 2019
For the fiscal year of 2018, PVSchools received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to the individual(s), department or agency designated by the government as primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR. This has been presented to Laura Felten, assistant superintendent of Business Operations.
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
“This award demonstrates PVSchools commitment to fiscal accountability and sound business management. We are proud of the work of our Business Operations team and their responsible and clear management and reporting of expenditures,” said Superintendent Jesse Welsh Ed.D.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 19,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
PVSchools has received this award every year since 1989.
