PVSchools Expands its Preschool Programs at 3 Elementary Schools

Monday , July 27 , 2020

PVSchools is expanding its preschool programs with the opening of the Early Childhood Academy at three elementary school sites –  Eagle Ridge, Larkspur, and Sunset Canyon.

The Early Childhood Academy provides our littlest learners strong literacy and math skills that will prepare them for their kindergarten experience.

The Early Childhood Academy is taught by a certified teacher who also has an early childhood endorsement. The class size at each site is limited to 15 students. The school day is from 8:30 a.m-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and will follow the school calendar.

Enrollment Criteria

There is no cost to attend the Early Childhood Academy; however, registrants must meet the required enrollment criteria for the program, which includes:

  • Students must live in the attendance area of the school they will attend;
  • Be 4 years old before September 1; and
  • Be toilet trained.

If your child meets the required criteria, registration can be completed by calling the Community Education Department at 602-449-2211. If space is available, you will receive an email with registration paperwork.

PVConnect: Virtual Real-Time Instruction Model

It’s important to know that students enrolled in the Early Childhood Academy will start the 2020-21 school year on August 5 using the PVConnect Virtual Real-Time Instruction model. All students will be expected to attend each day and participate as they would if they were attending in-person. PVConnect allows for a smooth transition for when in-person learning resumes. Once in-person instruction begins, teachers instructing online in the PVConnect model will teach in-person classes. For details regarding what Early Childhood Academy students and parents can expect on a typical day in the PVConnect model, please contact the Community Education Department at 602-449-2211.
