New Administrator, Principal, Assistant Principal Assignments for the 2019-20 School Year

The PVSchools Governing Board has appointed several new district office administrators, as well as five new principal and one assistant principal assignments for the 2019-20 school year. PVSchools would like to introduce our new administrators, principals, and assistant principals.

New Administrators

Assistant Superintendent of Leadership - Elementary

Dr. Steven Jeras was appointed as the Assistant Superintendent of Leadership – Elementary. Dr. Jeras joined the PVSchools family in 2004 and has held several positions, including director of Student Services – Elementary, principal, and assistant principal.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a post baccalaureate degree in Education Studies from Arizona State University, a Masters of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Director of Community Education

Natalie Wilcox is the director of Community Education. She was previously the principal at Echo Mountain Primary School. During her career, she has been employed by the Peoria Unified School District, Valley Cathedral Christian School, North County Supervisory Union in Vermont, and the Community College of Vermont. Ms. Wilcox earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Arts degree in Guidance Counseling from the University of Phoenix.

Director of Fine Arts

Joel Taylor is the new director of Fine Arts. He joins PVSchools from the Fort Worth Independent School District. He has held several positions in public education, including coordinator for theatre arts and dance, principal, dean of students, and teacher. Mr. Taylor has worked for the Fort Worth Independent School District, Connally Independent School District, Marlin Independent School District, Waco Independent School District, Park County Rural Education 2, Park County Rural Education 1, Valley Center School District, and Sedgwick Public Schools District. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the Friends University in Texas, and a Master of Arts degree in Administrative Leadership from the Texas Wesleyan University.

Director of Marketing & Communications

Michele Anderson is the director of Marketing & Communications. She comes to PVSchools from the City of Spokane where she served as the public safety communications director. Ms. Anderson was also employed at Washoe County School District in Reno as the communications director, as well as the National Automobile Museum and the City of Reno. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Nevada.

Assistant Director of Special Education

Robin Hollowell is the assistant director of Special Education. She joins PVSchools from Dysart Unified School District where she was an assistant principal. Ms. Hollowell held other positions in public education, including teacher on assignment, assistant principal, and teacher while employed at Deer Valley Unified School District and Washington Elementary School District. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary & Special Education and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Assistant Director of Transportation

Brandon George is the assistant director of Transportation. He joins the district from Baltimore County Public Schools where he served as senior operations manager. He also worked for Giant Food, Updike Distribution Logistics, The Logistics Group, and On Time Express. Mr. George earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Arizona State University and a Masters of Arts degree in Science, Law - Policy & Crisis/Emergency Management from the University of Maryland.

New Principals

Boulder Creek Elementary School

George Gillett is the new principal at Boulder Creek Elementary School. Mr. Gillett comes to PVSchools from Eugene School District in Oregon where he was an assistant principal. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Science/Liberal Arts from Oregon State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Science/Business  from Portland State University, and a Master of Arts degree from the Pacific University in Teaching and Learning.

North Ranch Elementary School

Missy Martin is the new principal at North Ranch Elementary School. Prior to joining North Ranch Elementary, Ms. Martin was the interim principal at Aire Libre Elementary School. She also worked as an administrative intern and a teacher in PVSchools. Ms. Martin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development & Family Relations from the University of Arizona, a post baccalaureate degree and a Master of Arts degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Phoenix.

Pinnacle High School

Dr. Chad Smith is the new principal at Pinnacle High School. Prior to joining PVSchools, he was a principal in the Balsz School District. He has held many positions in the field of education, including teacher, assistant principal, and coordinator of pupil services. Dr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning from the University of Utah, a Masters degree in Planning and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.

New Assistant Principals

Greenway Middle School

Jamie Durgey is the new assistant principal at Greenway Middle School. Prior to joining the district, Ms. Durgey was a principal in the Chittenango Central School District in New York. Her educational experience also includes being a teacher and administrative intern in the Liverpool School District in New York. Ms. Durgey earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta in New York and a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from the College of Saint Rose in New York.
