Join the Back to School Fun by Volunteering In Paradise

Friday , August 02 , 2019

Looking to join in on the back to school fun? Attend our next Volunteer In Paradise (VIP) orientation to find out whether the award-winning VIP program is the right opportunity for you. Register to attend the next orientation on Monday, August 12 from 9-11 a.m. at the PVSchools Community Resource Center (get directions).

“Volunteer In Paradise provides a meaningful way to serve children who attend public schools.  By providing one on one small group instruction to students who may not otherwise receive this type of attention, the VIP gets great satisfaction knowing they could be changing a child’s life,” said Marisha Geraghty, volunteer specialist - Human Resources.

Consider the benefits of becoming a VIP:

  • Free training
  • Support public education
  • Gain a sense of purpose
  • Become an active part of the community
  • Learn about PVSchools
  • Bridge the generation gap
  • Stay current by working with children
  • Improve brain health
  • Stay physically active

Established in 2013, volunteers, called VIPs, tutor students who need extra academic support, and in turn, help increase student academic achievement. The VIP program matches dedicated qualified volunteer tutors with students at participating schools. Volunteer tutors work with students in either a one-on-one setting or in small groups with the goal of increasing student achievement for students in kindergarten through sixth-grade. Opportunities may be available at one or more of the following elementary schools: Campo Bello Elementary School, Desert Cove Elementary School, Desert Shadows Elementary School, Echo Mountain Intermediate School, Echo Mountain Primary School, Hidden Hills Elementary School, Mercury Mine Elementary School, North Ranch Elementary School, and Whispering Wind Academy.
