How Prepared Are You? September is National Preparedness Month
Monday , September 09 , 2019
Since September is National Preparedness Month and with the excessive heat warnings and a few monsoon storms we are experiencing, now is the time for your family to start the conversation about preparing for emergency situations, making a family plan, building an emergency kit with enough supplies to last three to seven days, and practicing your evacuation route.
To help you get started, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created a website with detailed information and checklists to assist in creating a family plan, building an emergency kit, and learning how to shut off utilities so that you can be prepared in any situation. Learn more at ready.gov.
You can also download the FEMA app, which is available for Apple and Android mobile devices, to receive weather alerts, safety reminders, and locate shelters.
At PVSchools, the safety of our students and staff is our first priority. All district staff members receive regular training in a variety of emergency scenarios should a situation arise. Learn more about emergency preparedness at PVSchools.
