CTE Programs Provide Students with Viable Career Paths

Tuesday , August 23 , 2016

For some students, a post-secondary education may not be the path they want to pursue after high school. Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide students with the foundation and opportunity to explore different career paths while gaining real-world experiences along the way.

With a wide array of CTE programs offered in high schools, students receive hands-on learning by using industry standard equipment in state-of-the-art facilities to hone the skills and techniques necessary to succeed in in the workforce.

In the next few years, as baby boomers in the blue collar field begin to retire, CTE careers in construction, automotive technology, welding nursing and other fields will need to be filled with qualified employees. Oftentimes, the hard to fill positions will come with higher than expected wages and benefits.
