Pre-K-6th grade students returning for in-person learning will begin on February 16, and students in grades 7-12 will return on February 22.

4 Finalists to Represent PVSchools at the Maricopa County Regional II Spelling Bee

PVSchools will have four students representing the district at the Maricopa County Regional II Spelling Bee on Feb. 12. The district held its annual District Spelling Bee on Jan. 15 using the Scripps National Spelling Bee's online testing platform. The four finalists all scored 19 or above out of a possible 25 and there were no ties.
The four finalists are:
- First Place – Sai Manvik Malreaddy, a sixth-grader at Fireside Elementary School
- Second Place – Max Westervelt, a fifth-grader at Copper Canyon Elementary School
- Third Place – Jaime Prendiville, a sixth-grader at Desert Springs Preparatory Elementary School
- Fourth Place – Riley Rendelman, a seventh-grader at Desert Shadows Middle School
PVSchools is hosting the Maricopa County Regional II Spelling Bee on February 12, which includes Cave Creek Unified School District, Fountain Hills Unified School District, Paradise Valley Unified School District, Scottsdale Unified School District, and Deer Valley Unified School District. At this time, it has not been determined whether the event will be held virtual or in-person at Paradise Valley High School.
