• Being prepared
Larkspur conducts a fire drill evacuation from the building once a month.  Children are taught the importance of listening to directions during these drills, as alternate evacuation exits may be needed, in case fire is blocking the primary escape route.
Lockdown drills are practiced one time per semester.  These also range in scenario, i.e. stranger inside building, stranger on campus, or police situation in the neighborhood.
In the event of an actual emergency, families will be notified regarding the situation, as soon as possible.  If the school has to be evacuated and moved to an alternate location, families will be notified as to where their children are and when pick-up can begin.  Adults who will be sent to pick children up must be on the emergency card and have proper ID.
