What is the best part of your job? Overseeing the student’s education, interacting with students, partnering with their families, and leading the community in a collaborative effort to ensure that each student reaches his or her full individual potential.
What important message do you want all your parents to know? All Children are Capable of Success! No Exceptions! If you had one message for parents, what would it be? Parents at IBES are viewed as partners. We welcome parents into our school on many occasions and provide a variety of opportunities for them to be involved with their child’s education. Let’s become partners at IBES!What do you believe is the key to improving student achievement? I believe in a tiered approach to education with the promise of ensuring that all children have access to high quality instruction, and that struggling learners – including those with learning disabilities – are identified, supported, and served early and effectively.
What are you proudest of in your career? In 2012, my former school, Village Vista Elementary won the National Title I Distinguished School of the Year for Arizona! The greatest contributing factor to this achievement was offering a small group Literacy Lab model for ALL students in the school.
